HP 730 DesignJet Ink Overview
HP 730 is the original HP ink for the HP DesignJet T1600, T1700 and T2600 series. It comes in six colours (cyan, magenta, yellow, grey, photo black and matte black) in 130 ml and 300 ml sizes. DPI stocks matte black, the colour used most for CAD line work, in the 300 ml size.

HP DesignJet T1600, T1600dr, T1700 and T2600 series, including the PostScript and Plus models.
Good to know
- On the T1600 and T2600 it works with the HP 727 printhead (B3P06A).
- Matte black prints sharp CAD lines on plain and coated paper; photo black and grey give smoother tones on photo paper.
- HP rates prints for up to 100 years in dark storage, and the matte black ink meets some government durability requirements.

Which printers use HP 730 ink?
The HP DesignJet T1600, T1600dr, T1700 and T2600 series, including the PostScript and Plus models. Older T920, T930, T1500, T1530, T2500 and T2530 printers use HP 727 ink instead.
Should I buy 130 ml or 300 ml cartridges?
Choose 300 ml for colours you use a lot: it holds 2.3 times the ink for less than twice the price and needs fewer changes. The printer accepts either size in each slot, so you can mix them.
Why does the T1600 have two black inks?
Matte black gives dense, sharp lines on plain and coated paper for CAD drawings. Photo black is used on glossy and photo papers, and grey smooths tones in renders. The printer picks the right black for the paper loaded.
