HP 72 Consumables
HP DesignJet 72 Ink & Printheads
Support for Legacy HP DesignJet T-Series Printers. Genuine consumables for maintaining your existing hardware.
ℹ️ Legacy Hardware Support Notice
The HP DesignJet printers compatible with HP 72 consumables (T610, T1100, T1200, etc.) are legacy models that have been superseded by newer technology. While we continue to supply genuine ink for these units, users should be aware of potential operational risks:
Spare parts for these models are becoming scarce globally, which may lead to extended downtime in the event of mechanical failure.
Newer models offer up to 3x faster print speeds and consume significantly less ink during maintenance cycles.
We recommend a hardware assessment to determine if upgrading to a current T-Series model would deliver better ROI for your business.

Important Information
Please note that HP 72 consumables are for legacy hardware that is no longer actively supported by HP. While we maintain stock for existing users, we strongly recommend evaluating upgrade options to current-generation plotters. Newer models offer significantly improved reliability, speed, and cost-per-page efficiency. Contact us for a trade-in assessment to determine if upgrading makes business sense for your operation.
Supported Legacy Models
These HP DesignJet models use HP 72 ink cartridges and printheads. All are legacy models that have been superseded by newer technology.
Legacy Model Information
These HP DesignJet models using HP 72 consumables were manufactured between 2006-2013 and have reached end-of-service-life status. HP no longer actively supports these models with firmware updates, driver development, or spare parts manufacturing. While the printers may still function, finding replacement parts for mechanical failures is increasingly difficult, and newer models offer significant improvements in speed, efficiency, security, and features.
Parts Availability: Spare parts are becoming scarce globally, potentially causing extended downtime if mechanical failures occur. Operating Costs: Legacy models consume significantly more ink during maintenance cycles and print slower than current models. Security: No firmware updates means potential security vulnerabilities. Software Compatibility: Driver support for modern operating systems may be limited or unavailable. Efficiency: Current models offer up to 3x faster speeds and lower cost-per-page.
If your legacy printer is still functioning reliably and meets your production needs, you can continue using it while supplies remain available. However, we strongly recommend planning for an upgrade before mechanical failure occurs. Contact us for a trade-in assessment to evaluate the cost-benefit of upgrading. Many businesses find that newer models pay for themselves through improved efficiency, reduced downtime, and lower operating costs within 12-24 months.

Support & Resources
We maintain inventory of genuine HP 72 ink cartridges and printheads for existing users of legacy DesignJet T-Series printers. However, as these are discontinued products, long-term availability cannot be guaranteed. We recommend ordering sufficient supplies for your expected usage period and planning for hardware upgrade before consumables become unavailable. Contact us for current stock levels and bulk purchasing options.
Service support for legacy HP 72 printers is extremely limited. HP no longer manufactures spare parts for these models, and finding qualified technicians with experience on these legacy systems is increasingly difficult. If your printer experiences mechanical failure, repair may not be feasible or cost-effective. We strongly recommend having a contingency plan in place, such as a trade-in pre-approval or backup printer availability.
Our team can help you plan a smooth migration from legacy HP 72 printers to current-generation models. Services include: hardware assessment and ROI analysis, trade-in valuation, workflow optimization recommendations, operator training on new equipment, media and color profile migration.
