HP 728 DesignJet Ink Overview
HP 728 is the original HP ink for the HP DesignJet T730 and T830. DPI stocks the 130 ml cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges and the 300 ml matte black, and all four work with the HP 729 printhead. Each colour is replaced on its own, so you only buy the colour that runs out.

Good to know
- Pairs with the HP 729 printhead, which prints all four colours.
- Matte black does most of the work on CAD line drawings, so the 300 ml size is the one worth buying large.

Questions about the HP 728 DesignJet Ink
Which printers use HP 728 ink?
The HP DesignJet T730 and the HP DesignJet T830 multifunction printer, in 24-inch and 36-inch versions. The newer T850 and T950 use HP 738 ink instead.
Is the 300 ml cartridge better value than the 130 ml?
Yes. A 300 ml cartridge holds 2.3 times the ink of a 130 ml cartridge for about twice the price, so it costs less per ml and needs changing less often.
Does non-HP ink affect my warranty?
Original HP cartridges are covered until the ink runs out or the warranty-end date printed on the cartridge, whichever comes first. HP's printer warranty does not cover damage or repairs caused by non-HP or refilled cartridges.
